With the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) Punjab, CSF strengthened assessment and monitoring for competency-based learning under Mission Samrath, the State’s FLN mission.
- From August 2025, monthly Student Progress Observation Tool (SPOT) assessments tracked Grades 1-2 learning in Mathematics and Punjabi: between August and December 2025, the Academic Support Group, comprising Block Resource Coordinators (BRCs) and District Resource Coordinators (DRCs), assessed 27,512 students across 5,624 government primary schools, using competency-level data to guide classroom interventions.
- CSF supported the statewide annual FLN assessments across all 23 districts, in February 2025. Using Early Grade Reading Assessment (EGRA) and Early Grade Mathematics Assessment (EGMA) frameworks contextualised for Punjab, Field Investigators assessed around 1,142 schools, nearly 7,000 responses per grade, via the Tangerine application. The results have shown improved learning levels among FLN grade students.
- On materials and capacity, CSF revised the Grade 2 Mathematics textbook in line with the National Curriculum Framework for the Foundational Stage (NCF-FS), developed the accompanying teacher manual and reached around 29,000 primary teachers through a co-developed training programme.
- Under Mission Samrath 4.0, Punjab’s remedial programme for Grades 3-8, a State Compendium was launched on 9 April 2026 by Harjot Singh Bains, Hon’ble Education Minister, Government of Punjab, capturing best practices from 38 exemplary ‘Samrath’ schools which were showcased during the state launch event.
